Christian Stoever Earns Second CCHA Weekly Award of the Season

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Central Collegiate Hockey Association has recognized four student-athletes as its Players of the Week for the previous week of competition. Bowling Green's Christian Stoever was named CCHA Goaltender of the Week, his third CCHA honor of the season and sixth weekly award of his career. The senior recorded his third shutout of the season and seventh of his career.
This is Stoever's third conference award of the season after earning CCHA Goaltender of the Week in the first week of 2025 and CCHA Goaltender of the Month for the month of December. Bowling Green has now earned at least one CCHA weekly award in two consecutive weeks, with Gustav Stjernberg earning CCHA Defenseman of the Week last week.
Bowling Green now has earned nine CCHA weekly awards and two CCHA Goaltender of the week awards for the 2024-25 season. Junior Brett Pfoh earned CCHA Forward of the Week in the first week of the season, Ethan Scardina earned CCHA Forward of the Week and junior Dalton Norris, earning twice, sophomore Breck McKinley and sophomore Gustav Stjernberg earned CCHA Defenseman of the Week twice, while senior Christian Stoever earned CCHA Goaltender of the Week.

Stoever stopped 47 of 48 shots he faced in a sweep of the Michigan Tech Huskies in the CCHA Mason Cup Quarterfinals. On Saturday night, the Northville, Mich., native stopped all 27 shots he faced for his seventh career shutout and third of the season. The senior goaltender finished the weekend with a .979 save percentage.
