Brady Birchmeier Named MAC Co-Player Of The Week
March 17, 2025 | Baseball
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced the MAC Players and Pitcher of the Week Monday afternoon (March 17). Of those named, Brady Birchmeier earned Co-Player of the Week alongside Miami (OH)'s Evan Applewick. This marks the first honor of Birchmeier's BGSU career as well as the first time a Falcon has been recognized this season after collecting seven weekly awards last year.
Birchmeier continued to showcase a hot bat for the Falcons, aiding Bowling Green in a sweep over Akron on the road for the first time since 2014. Birchmeier began the series with a pair of back-to-back three-hit games with two RBI in the first game. As for the second, Birchmeier not only belted a home run, but logged two doubles, four RBI and two runs scored for the Orange and Brown. He followed it up with another home run in the series finale, his second in as many days, while tallying three RBI and scoring twice. Over the weekend, Birchmeier recorded a team-high nine RBI, increasing his MAC lead on the season to 29.
UP NEXT
Bowling Green will return home for a six-game homestand, beginning with two midweek games, scheduled for Tuesday (March 18) against Purdue Fort Wayne and Wednesday (March 19) against Dayton, both with 3 p.m. first pitches.
