Nick Studdard enters his second season with Falcons in the 2024 campaign. Studdard arrived in Bowling Green prior to the 2023 season after a stint with Southern University.
With Southern University, Studdard served as an undergraduate assistant coach after being hired in January 2020 under SU Head Coach, Kerrick Jackson. His role saw him coach the catchers and assist hitters, in addition to assisting with daily clubhouse activities and other program needs.
With Southern University, Studdard helped guide them to a 2021 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Championship-winning season with a 7-6 win over Jackson State in the finals at Toyota Field. During this season, Studdard helped see SU to a 13-11 conference record. Also in 2021, Studdard and SU progressed to the 2021 Austin Regional in the NCAA Tournament while Taj Porter was selected to the All-SWAC second team as a catcher under Studdard's tutelage.
In 2022, Studdard helped guide SU to a second SWAC Championship Final. Although unsuccessful against Alabama State, SU had a successful SWAC season with a 21-9 record.
In addition to being an undergraduate assistant coach with Southern University, Studdard will be entering his third season coaching the Northwoods League with the St. Cloud Rox. Studdard is the Hitting/Catching Coach for the Rox, and has had great success with the team. Under his supervision, the Rox achieved a historic first in the Northwoods League by tallying back-to-back 50-win seasons. Studdard has been selected for the Great Plains All-Star Coaching Staff in back-to-back years as well.Â
Studdard graduated from Southern University in December of 2022, earning a Bachelors in Business Administration (BBA) in Project Management. While attending Southern University, Studdard played for the 2016-17 season as catcher with SU Baseball.Â
