2009: Appeared in 18 games, including three starts from the mound…had a 4-1 record over 50.2 innings pitched…had a 2.6:1 strikeout-to-walk ratio after totally 45 punchouts and only 17 free passes…earned his first career save against Ohio (5/1) after striking out the final batter in a 12-9 win… started his first career game two days later against the Bobcats (5/3) going 6.1 innings and striking out a career-high seven batters in a 9-7 win…earned his first career win in a seven inning relief effort against Central Michigan (4/4) allowing only two earned runs and striking out four in an 11-4 victory…pitched a scoreless inning of relief against Notre Dame (4/29) while striking out a pair of Irish…pitched two innings against Akron (4/14) striking out three and allowing no runs…between 4/4 and 5/1 he put in 20.0 innings of work, allowing only 16 hits and two walks while striking out 18 batters and accumulating a 2.70 earned run average…was 4-0 with a 5.60 ERA in 35.1 innings of MAC play…opposing hitters batted .270 against him, seventh lowest while in MAC competition.
HIGH SCHOOL: Was a four-year letterwinner for coach Ed Mauch...was primarily a pitcher during his prep career used mostly as a reliever his first three seasons and as a starter his final year...made eight starts his senior year working 42 innings with a 3.36 ERA...had 10 strikeouts against Toledo Central Catholic and 11 against Toledo St. Francis...was a first-team All-City and first team Div. I all-district selection his senior year...helped the Titans to district runner-up finishes twice during his prep career.
