Starts his fourth year with the team after making the club as a walk-on his freshman season.
The son of Craig Newman and Helen Newman.

Attended Glenbrook South H.S. before enrolling at Northwood.
Played summer hockey in the Windy City League as a center/wing in 1995 and 1995.
Saw action in seven games, including three straight from Jan. 2-8.
Recorded shots on goal against Northeastern and at Nebraska-Omaha.
Recorded two goals on the season.
Was credited with his first two collegiate assists during the Sheraton/US Airways tournament in Burlington, Vermont.
Played in seven consecutive games twice during the season, including the final seven contests of the regular season.
Played in a total of two games as a rookie, splitting time at left wing and center.
Made his college debut at Miami (Nov. 15), the team[apos]s 11th game of the campaign.
Finished the year with a +1 on-ice rating.
Came to the Falcon program after a successful 1995-96 campaign at Northwood School where he played for Head Coach Tom Fleming.
Missed most of the year with a shoulder injury, but still registered 21 goals and 24 assists.
Played the previous seasons for the Chicago Young Americans in the Michigan National Hockey League.
Netted 24 markers and assisted on 33 others in 1994-95.
Skated with Team Illinois of the MNHL in 1992-93 after competing for Glenbrook South H.S. the year before.
Attended the United States National Select 17 Camp in Lake Placid, N.Y.
