Stavros Paskaris joined the Falcon Hockey coaching staff in May of 2021, with the 2023-24 campaign being his third with the program.Â
In 2022-23, the Falcons produced one of the more impressive offensive seasons in recent history. Bowling Green averaged 3.42 goals per game in CCHA play, the most since 1998-99.
In his first season as assistant coach, the Falcons competed in the reestablished Central Collegiate Hockey Association. The Falcons started the year with a 3-0-2 record, the last remaining unbeaten team in college hockey. The Orange and Brown had several forwards recognized by the conference over the course of the season. Ryan O'Hara won CCHA Rookie of the Week and Coale Norris claimed CCHA Forward of the Week. Nathan Burke, who led the team with 16 goals, was named a Hobey Baker Memorial Award Nominee.
Paskaris spent the 2020-21 season with the Dartmouth hockey program, joining the staff in July of 2020. Due to the Ivy League canceling sports during the past year, Paskaris didn't appear on the bench during his season with the program.Â
Prior to Dartmouth Paskaris was part of the Princeton hockey team, serving as an assistant coach from 2014-20. With Princeton, Paskaris was an instrumental part of the Tigers' 2018 ECAC Hockey Tournament Championship and NCAA Tournament berth. During that season he oversaw the second-best scoring offense in the nation as the Tigers' averaged 3.64 goals per game including two 50-plus point seasons from both Ryan Kuffner and Max Veronneau. In the same season, Paskaris guided Josh Teves to be the nation's top scoring defenseman as well as placing the Tigers' as the nation's top ranked power-play with a mark of .277.Â
Paskaris began his coaching career with nearby Adrian College, serving as an assistant on the staff for five seasons under Ron Fogarty, the same coach that hired him at Princeton. With Adrian, Paskaris was the team's recruiting coordinator in addition to being the first assistant on the staff. Over his time, he aided the Bulldogs to a 114-19-9 standing, including four Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association (MCHA) regular-season titles, three MCHA playoff championships and four NCAA Tournament bids.Â
A native of Dearborn, Mich., Paskaris earned his bachelor's degree from Wayne State in 2008 and a master's degree from Ohio University in 2009. While at Wayne State, Paskaris was a four-year member of the varsity hockey program, being named the College Hockey America Rookie of the Year in 2005. He also played for the Dayton Bombers in the ECHL.Â
