BGSU Supporters Donate At Historic Levels
The BGSU Athletics Department is dependent on the generosity of its supporters and fans to continue to push forward and the 2013-14 school year saw donations come in at record levels. Major gifts were announced throughout the year and many of them broke records. In April, it was announced that the late Bill Frack's gift to BGSU men's basketball had doubled to $20 million (for release, CLICK HERE), the single largest private gift to Bowling Green State University in the institution's history. In May, BGSU Athletics Hall of Famer gave the largest gift by a former student-athlete in University history when he announced a $1 million contribution to BGSU Baseball (for release, CLICK HERE). In October of 2013, a group of men's lacrosse alumni, one of the University's Heritage Sports, gave more than $150,000 to launch the Athletics Department's campaign to raise $500,000 for the Walk of Fame and History, featuring the Cochrane Cunningham Archive and Museum (for release, CLICK HERE). In September of 2013, the University announced that Chris and Di Burch had stepped up with a $250,000 donation to support the football and volleyball programs (for release, CLICK HERE).
These are just a small sampling of the generous gifts from BGSU supporters and fans throughout the year. BGSU Athletics is humbled to accept such gifts and is privileged to have the opportunity to help see each donor's vision for their gifts come to completion.
