Gymnastics Travels to Kalamazoo on Sunday

The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team will travel to Kalamazoo, Mich., for a Sunday (Jan. 31) tilt with the Western Michigan Broncos, the Falcons' second Mid-American Conference meet is as many weeks. The two-team event will begin at 1 p.m. in University Arena.
The Falcons (1-2, 1-0 MAC) are coming off their best performance of the season last week, posting a team score of 192.625, downing the Northern Illinois Huskies (190.900) last Sunday (Jan. 24) inside Anderson Arena.
Breanne Guy led the charge with an all-around score of 38.875, her best total score on the young season. She posted scores of 9.725 (vault), 9.650 (bars), 9.800 (beam) and 9.700 (floor) to edge out WMU's Natalie Blum (38.725) to finish first in the all-around. For her efforts, Guy was named Papa John's Female Student-Athlete of the Week.
Danielle Wishart also had an outstanding meet, finishing first on the vault and floor exercise. Her score of 9.825 on the vault and 9.850 on the floor were both career-bests.
Western Michigan (3-5, 0-2 MAC) is coming off a second-place finish at Illinois State, where they posted a score of 190.525. Illinois State won the meet with a score of 190.925, while Air Force (185.150) and UW-La Crosse (183.300) finished third and fourth respectively.
Following the meet with the Broncos the Falcons will travel to Illinois-Chicago on Feb. 6, 2010.
