Moment No. 2 From 2009-10: Back To The Big Dance!
July 26, 2010 | General, Women's Basketball
Throughout the summer, we'll be releasing our list of the Top 10 Moments of the 2009-10 athletic year at BGSU. The list was compiled and voted on by members of the Athletics Department administration and the Athletic Communications office. We'll release the list one at a time until announcing the No. 1 moment of the year on Aug. 2. Today, we look back at our No. 2 moment of the year.
Women's Basketball Beats Toledo To Win MAC Tournament, Earn Bid To NCAA Tournament
It seemed like the entire 2009-10 basketball season was leading up to this game. Bowling Green won its sixth consecutive Mid-American Conference regular season championship by going 14-2 in MAC play. Toledo, on the other hand, stunned the Falcons with a 66-63 win during the regular season and BGSU wanted nothing more than to avenge that defeat at Quicken Loans Arena for the tournament championship. Toledo jumped out to a 10-2 lead in the rematch but the Falcons stifled the Rockets' offense in the final eight minutes of the first half and BGSU took a 29-24 lead into the half. The second half was nip-and-tuck before the Falcons pulled away in the final two minutes. For the entire story, click here: BGSU Downs Toledo, 62-53, For MAC Tournament Title
