BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- BGSU ice hockey has gone through an assortment of changes over the past two seasons. Modifications include new coaching and support staff, a heap of incoming freshmen and an overall facelift of the program. Perhaps the most noticeable change is the new look of the BGSU Ice Arena, which has been home to the Falcons for over 40 years. Several renovations were completed prior to the season, showcasing Bowling Green's commitment to hockey. The most recent renovation was to the team locker room, which received new lockers and changing stalls.
“We are very excited to have the locker room renovations completed. We would like to thank all of those who have given and continue to give to Falcon Hockey," said head coach Chris Bergeron. "Without the support of a lot of people, the upgrades to our locker room would not have been possible. These improvements will continue to help us attract the best possible student athletes for our program. They also reaffirm Bowling Green's continued commitment to the future of Falcon Hockey.”
The new-look Falcons have started the season with a 4-1-1 record, their best in 15 years. Bowling Green looks to improve upon their already impressive start this weekend, when nationally-ranked Notre Dame comes to town. The Fighting Irish are 3-2-0 overall, and are currently ranked fifth in the USCHO.com Division I Men's Poll. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. Friday and Saturday night.
