Falcons Welcome The Freshman Class Of 2012-13

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio. -- The Bowling Green State University ice hockey team has announced the signing of five student-athletes, the majority of whom will play for the Falcons in 2012-13. Bowling Green welcomes Mark Cooper, Ben Murphy, Ralfs Freibergs, Jose Delgadillo and Matt Pohlkamp to the Falcon hockey family.
Mark Cooper | Forward
In 95 games played for St. Michaels, Cooper registered 111 points, including 49 career goals, and 62 assists. Cooper recently led his team in playoff scoring, recording four goals and 10 assists in 11 playoff games.

Ben Murphy
DOB: Sep 7, 1991 | Duxbury, Mass.
Height: 6.00 | Weight: 200
Murphy, who was named to the 2011-12 CJHL All Star Team, ranked first on the Canadians in points-per-game (1.43) among everyday players. Murphy also tied for the Carleton Place lead in playoff scoring, recording three assists in four games played.
Ralfs Freibergs | Defense
Freibergs led all Lincoln defenseman in scoring last season, recording eight goals and 34 assists in 58 games played. Freibergs finished last season with a +25 on ice rating.

Jose Delgadillo | Defense
Jose Delgadillo (Milwaukee, Wisc.) joins the Falcons after spending the last three seasons in the United States Hockey League. Delgadillo played his first two full seasons with the Sioux City Musketeers, recording seven points (1G, 6A) and 47 penalty minutes in 97 games played.
Most recently, Delgadillo split the 2011-12 season between Sioux City and the Indiana Ice, picking up 13 points and 57 penalty minutes in 56 games this past year.

Matt Pohlkamp | Forward
DOB: June 6, 1993 | Lake City, Minn.
Height: 6.00 | Weight: 197
Pohlkamp's 35 assists led the league, while his 25 goals ranked third overall. Pohlkamp led the Central Lakes League with a +53 on ice rating, while averaging 2.40 points-per-game. Brainerd finished the season with a 13-0 league record, and a record of 21-4 overall. Pohlkamp may spend a year playing junior hockey before coming to Bowling Green.
