May 07, 2012 | Baseball
The Bowling Green State University baseball team will host Wright State University on Tuesday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 pm at Steller Field. The Falcons enter with a record of 19-27, while the Raiders come in with a 32-16 mark.
Wright State is led by two senior outfielders. Ryan Ashe, a native of Huber Heights, Ohio, comes in batting .393. He has eight doubles, six triples, and one home run on the season, with 42 RBI. Tristan Moore enters with a .372 average. He has scored 50 runs, with 13 doubles, two triples, six home runs, and 44 RBI. Moore has started all 48 games this season. The Raiders enter with a .313 batting average and a team ERA of 4.45.
The Falcons are coming off a weekend at Eastern Michigan, where they were defeated on Friday and Saturday, before winning on Sunday. In that Sunday game, Nick Bruns picked up the win, before Ben Singer came on for his first career save. Patrick Lancaster and Brian Bien each had multi-hit games, while Jeremy Shay had a multi-RBI day.
The Falcons have already defeated Wright State this season, traveling to Dayton, Ohio for the 8-6 victory. Chris Miller picked up the win in that contest.

On Monday morning, the baseball team volunteered at the Wood County Senior Center. Fans can find more information - including a photo gallery - on that event HERE.
For his efforts this weekend, Nick Bruns was named the Papa John's Male Athlete of the Week for the athletic department. That story can be found HERE.
