Orange And Brown World Series Set To Begin Next Week

Falcons will conclude fall practice with five-game intrasquad series

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio—The Bowling Green State University baseball team will conclude fall practice with the Orange and Brown World Series, which begins on Tuesday, October 15 at Steller Field. The Falcons, who are coming off a trip to the NCAA Tournament, return 22 letterwinners from last season's team. The Fall World Series will be played with a best-of-five format. The Series kicks off on Tuesday (Oct. 15) afternoon, with a 3:00 p.m. first pitch. Subsequent games will be played on October 17 (Thursday), October 19 (Saturday), October 22 (Tuesday), and October 23 (Wednesday). With the exception of a noon start on October 19, all games will begin at 3:00 p.m.
First-year assistant coach Mike Huling will coach the Orange team, while student assistant coach Drew Kuns will manage the Brown team. Volunteer assistant Garrett Gray will assist with the Orange, while former Falcon Matt Pitzulo will help out Kuns with the Brown team.
Senior Jeremy Shay was taken with the first pick for the Orange team, while senior Ethan McKenney was the first pitcher taken overall for the Brown team.

The Brown team roster for the World Series is: T.J. Losby (Sr., C/1B), Patrick Lancaster (Sr., OF), Logan Walker (Sr., INF), Jesse Rait (Jr., OF), Jake Thomas (Sr., OF), Matt Smith (So., DH), Brandon Howard (Sr., INF), Aaron Loconsole (So., INF), Tyler Greiner (Fr., C), Ethan McKenney (Sr., RHP), Jason Link (Jr., RHP), Devin Daugherty (So., RHP),Trevor Farrell (Fr., RHP), Tony Landi (Fr., RHP), Rob Zenas (Fr., RHP), Kevin Delapaz (Jr., LHP), and Brett Fitzwater (So., LHP).
The Falcons are coming off their first MAC Tournament Championship in 14 years last season, as they advanced to the NCAA Tournament's Louisville Regional. The Falcons have 19 players who are in at least their third year in the program in 2014.
