May 13, 2013 | Baseball, General, Women's Track and Field
Each week, the Bowling Green State University Athletic Department names the Pizza Hut Athletes of the Week, as selected by the athletic communications department based on their athletic performances from the previous week. This week's winners are baseball player Mike Frank and track and field athlete Brooke Pleger.

Male Athlete of the Week
Mike Frank, a redshirt junior from Maumee, Ohio, threw 10 innings in an extra-innings win for Bowling Green, picking up his fourth win of the season. Frank allowed just four hits as the Falcons won 7-2 in 10 innings. It was the first time a BGSU pitcher had thrown more than nine innings in a game since May 2, 2003.
Female Athlete of the Week
Brooke Pleger, a redshirt sophomore from Saline, Mich., set a new MAC Championship record in the hammer throw with a toss of 216-feet-3. She is the first BGSU track and field athlete to win a MAC Championship since 2005 and was named the conference's Most Outstanding Field Athlete of the Year.
