NCAA Hockey Names Nell First Star of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After posting a pair of shutouts against Alabama Huntsville, junior goaltender Chris Nell was named NCAA Hockey First Star of the Week.
A native of Green Bay, Wis., Nell tallied a season-high of 38 saves on Saturday night in a 2-0 victory, after posting 33 saves on Friday night in an outstanding 7-0 Bowling Green win. Over the course of the weekend, Nell had 120:00 of perfect play with a new season-high of 71 saves.
On the season, Nell holds a 2.19 goals against average, paired with a .912 save percentage. Saturday's shutout marked his fourth of the season and program-leading 11th of his career.
The Bowling Green hockey program will be back in action on Friday, March 3 as it welcomes Ferris State to the Slater Family Ice Arena for the First Round of the WCHA Playoffs.
