Dufour, McLain and Sholl Named WCHA Scholar-Athletes

EDINA, Minn. – Three Bowling Green hockey players have earned WCHA Scholar-Athlete honors, including seniors Kevin Dufour and Tomas Sholl, in addition to junior Mitch McLain.
To earn recognition as a Western Collegiate Hockey Association Scholar-Athlete, conference-member student-athletes must have completed at least one year of residency at their present institution prior to the current academic year and must also have a grade-point average of at least 3.50 on a 4.0 scale for the previous two semesters or three quarters, or may qualify if his/her overall GPA is at least 3.50 for all terms at his or her present institution.
Dufour, a native of Quebec City, Quebec, is a senior forward for the Falcons and marked a 3.50 GPA for the fall semester as he majored in finance. Similarly, fellow senior Sholl is a goaltender also majoring in finance and marked a 4.00 GPA for the fall semester.
Junior forward McLain is majoring to be a Mild-Moderate Intervention Specialist and marked a 3.60 GPA for the fall semester. It is Dufour's and McLain's first WCHA Scholar-Athlete award, while it is Sholl's third consecutive.
The Bowling Green hockey program will be back in action Saturday, Feb. 11 as it hosts Mercyhurst in non-conference action at 5:07 p.m.
