The Bowling Green hockey program is coming off of a 21-18-2 season in 2016-17, in which they made its first appearance in a conference championship since 1988. The Falcons rode a seven-game win streak, the longest of Coach Bergeron's career, to its first appearance in the WCHA Championship since joining the league in 2013-14. The Falcons will also be captained by 2016-17 All-WCHA First Team member Mitch McLain.
The Falcons 18 home games will include four non-conference matchups and 14 Western Collegiate Hockey Association games. On the season, Bowling Green will have a total of 28 WCHA games, seven non-conference matchups, and two games at the Great Lakes Invitational in Detroit, Mich.
After opening with a pair of home exhibition matchups, the Falcons will continue non-conference play as it hosts the opening game of a home-and-home series with Big Ten foe Michigan State. The Falcons will open WCHA action with a pair of homestands against both Minnesota State and Alaska Fairbanks, before a home series with Lake Superior State.
Bowling Green will then head into the holiday break with six straight home games as it hosts in-state rival Miami in non-conference play prior to facing 2016-17 WCHA Regular Season Champion Bemidji State, followed by Alabama Huntsville. 2017 will then close out with the season's final non-conference game at home against Western Michigan on Dec. 28.
After hosting five home WCHA series in the first half, the Falcons will have a travel-heavy road schedule heading into the playoffs. Bowling Green will host its lone series at home in the month of January with Alaska Anchorage, prior to hosting 2016-17 WCHA Champion Michigan Tech for its final home series of the regular season Feb. 2-3, making it just four games taking place at the Slater Family Ice Arena in the regular season after the holiday break.
With the pair of exhibition matchups, it makes for a minimum of 20 opportunities to watch the team in the Slater Family Ice Arena. Season tickets are available for as low as $169 and provide the greatest value for fans. Full information is available by CLICKING HERE.
