Orange And Brown World Series Begins This Week
October 09, 2018 | Baseball
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball team begins its annual Orange and Brown World Series on Thursday (Oct. 11) afternoon. The best-of-five fall World Series will take place at Warren E. Steller Field. Each game will last six innings.
This year, the Orange team will be led by captains Jeff Scott and Jake Wilson. Scott and Wilson picked infielder Ryan Johnston and pitcher Tyler Hays with their No. 1 picks in the position player and pitcher pools.
The Brown team is being captained by Riley Minorik and Neil Lambert. Minorik and Lambert's top picks were infielder Cam Daugherty and pitcher Gage Schenk. It's worth noting that Minorik and Lambert won the rock-paper-scissors battle to determine home field advantage, so team Brown will be the home team for Game 1, Game 3 and Game 5.
The entire Orange roster is as follows: Jeff Scott, Jake Wilson, Jack Connelly, Dylan Dohanos, Adam Furnas, Tyler Haas, Ryan Johnston, Gama Martinez, Ty Suntken, Chase Antle, Andrew Carson, Damon Egnor, Tyler Hays, Nathan Lohmeier, Andrew Oehkme, Jeremy Spezia and David Stopp.
