Falcons Travel To SEMO For Four-Game Series

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – The Bowling Green State University baseball team travels to Southeast Missouri State University this weekend for a four-game series over Feb. 23-25. The series features single games on Friday and Sunday, with a doubleheader scheduled for Saturday.

Bowling Green opened up the 2015 season at Southeast Missouri State, winning on opening day before dropping the next two. The three-game series marked the only meeting between the two schools.
The Falcons opened the 2018 season at Alabama-Birmingham last weekend. Bowling Green led throughout both of the first two games, before falling behind in the eighth inning on both occasions. On Sunday, UAB struck for three runs in the first and led for the remainder of the contest.
Zac Carey and Kody Brown turned in solid starts, as Brown threw a career-high 6.0 shutout innings on Saturday, while Carey grinded out 5.2 innings of three-run ball on Friday.
Offensively, Ty Suntken went 4-for-4 across the weekend. Brad Croy (2-for-3; .667), R.J. Williams (3-for-7; .429), Derek Drewes (3-for-8; .375) and Randy Righter (4-for-12; .333) each racked up multiple hits, and will enter the weekend hitting over .300. Cam Daugherty and Jeff Scott each hit solo home runs.
Southeast Missouri will enter play with a 0-4 record. SEMO opened up the 2018 season by getting swept at the College of Charleston. On Tuesday, Arkansas State beat SEMO by a score of 7-6. SEMO will be playing its first games of the season at home this weekend. All four games are scheduled to be played at Capaha Field.
