BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball team was defeated by Kent State University by a score of 14-1 on Friday (April 2). The Mid-American Conference game at Steller Field at Gary Haas Stadium served as Bowling Green's home opener. The Falcons drop to 8-11 (6-3 MAC) on the season with the loss.
The Golden Flashes jumped out early, scoring once in the first and breaking open the game with a four-run second. KSU moves to 9-11 (2-3 MAC) with the victory.
A second-inning solo blast for Jared Johnson marked BGSU's lone run on the afternoon. The no-doubter to right field was Johnson's second home run of 2021. Dylan Dohanos, Adam Furnas and Adam Fallon each recorded a hit for the Orange and Brown.
The four-game series resumes with a Saturday (April 3) doubleheader, with first pitch set for 12:05 p.m. The series will resume with a single game on Sunday (April 4) at 1:05 p.m.
