Falcons Drop Saturday Doubleheader To Kent State

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball team was defeated in both games of a Saturday (April 3) Mid-American Conference doubleheader. Kent State University won the first game, 10-6, before claiming the night cap by a score of 13-4. Both ballgames were played at Steller Field at Gary Haas Stadium.

Dylan Dohanos went 2-for-3 in the night cap, while Jack Krause and Tyler Haas each belted solo home runs. Nathan Rose, Adam Furnas and Mason Montgomery posted two hits apiece in the first contest of the afternoon. On the mound, in the first game, Peyton Wilson worked three strong innings of one-run ball in his Steller Field debut

The Falcons drop to 8-12 (6-5 MAC) with the pair of losses, while the Golden Flashes improve to 11-11 (4-3 MAC). The four-game series will conclude on Sunday (April 4) with a 1:05 p.m. first pitch. The game will stream live for free on YouTube. Live stats will also be provided.

"Today's games have everything to do with how we pitch and play defense. We have started each game in a hole because we continuously pitch in cripple counts and give up first base for free. On a windy day, or any day, that's not a winning recipe. We need to make the 50/50 plays and routine plays defensively. Offensively, we put together team at-bats during some parts of the game, but the major problem is we must stop striking out with runners on base. I expect the team we have been in the first couple conference weekends to show up tomorrow and give our fans something to be proud of."
