Krause, Gurney Homer In Series Finale At Ball State

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Bowling Green State University baseball program concluded the weekend series with the Ball State Cardinals on Monday (March 21). Jack Krause and Kyle Gurney logged home runs for the Falcons for the second consecutive game. The Cardinals came away with a 9-4 final. On the mound, Will MacLean and Griffin Parrill offered shutout relief appearances, tossing an inning each. The next time the Falcons are in action will be at Steller Field, hosting the Ohio Bobcats this coming weekend.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- For the second time in as many games, Jack Krause logged a home run for the Falcons. After both Ryan Johnston and Anthony Toma drew walks, Krause hit a home run to center field to give Bowling Green a 3-0 lead going into the bottom of the second.
- Ball State responded in the bottom of the third. A single with runners at the corners scored the first two runs of the inning before a double down the left field line brought in another pair to push the Cardinals ahead 4-3.
- BSU added to their total in the fifth inning. A trio of doubles tallied two runs for the Cardinals to push their lead to 6-3.
- The Cardinals added three runs in the sixth to stretch their lead to 9-3.
- Kyle Gurney smacked his second home run of the weekend, coming in the eighth inning to cut the lead down to 9-4.

- Will MacLean and Griffin Parrill both produced scoreless innings of relief for the Falcons, marking the first shutout appearance of the season for each pitcher.
