Gymnastics Open MAC Competition on Saturday against NIU at the Stroh Center

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green gymnastics team returns home on Saturday to open MAC competition against Northern Illinois. The event starts at 12 p.m., inside the Stroh Center.

• It is Dollar Day at Stroh Center. Tickets and select concession items are $1.
• It is also faculty/staff appreciation day.
ADMISSION AND ATTENDANCE GUIDELINES
• Admission for Saturday's meet is $1. Gates open at 11 a.m.
• The concession stand will open at 11 a.m.
• All parking lots surrounding the Stroh Center are free of charge
• All bags will be checked upon entrance into the Stroh Center. No outside food or drink will be allowed.
IN THE RANKINGS
• Bowling Green is ranked No. 39 in the nation per Road to Nationals. Northern Illinois comes in at No. 40 this week.
• Bowling Green is ranked No. 29 on beam, No. 30 on bars, No. 36 on vault and No. 44 on floor.
• NIU is No. 30 on beam, No. 37 on floor, No. 42 on vault and No. 43 on bars.
ALL-TIME SERIES
• Bowling Green is 14-13 all-time against NIU. The Huskies have won five-straight meets over the Falcons. BGSU's last win was in 2018 at Anderson Arena.
• BGSU gymnasts Megan Bingham, Charniya Brown, Madison Coburn and Isabella Rivelli all made collegiate debuts in last season's meeting at NIU.
• Kathryn Weilbacher narrowly missed the all-around crown with a score of 38.925.
NORTHERN ILLINOIS
• NIU opened the year at a Missouri Quad Meet, falling to each of the other three participants: Missouri, Lindenwood and Southeast Missouri State.
LAST WEEK
• BGSU opened the season hosting Illinois State. The Falcons fell, 195.950-192.95, after some untimed falls on floor to close the meet.
• Love Akpan made her collegiate debut in the all-around.
• Keira Thornton (VT, UB, FX) and Nadia Parente (BB) also made collegiate debuts.
• Charniya Brown had a career-best 9.800 on vault.
