Brown Defeats Orange In Fall World Series

The Bowling Green State University baseball team completed fall practice yesterday (Oct. 17). The Fall World Series was the culmination of the fall practice schedule, with the Brown defeating the Orange, three games to one.
GAME 1: 6-5 Orange (Orange leads series 1-0) | WP: Kevin Delapaz | LP: Ben Singer | S: Devin Daugherty
In game one, the Orange scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth (six inning games) to outlast the Brown 6-5. Logan Walker sparked the Orange offense, knocking two runs in on his RBI triple to center field. Andrew Kubuski was 2-3 on the afternoon, while Kyle Burkhardt knocked in two with a double. The Brown was led by Brian Bien, Jesse Rait, and Matt Williams, who were all 2-3 in game one.
GAME 2: 4-3 Brown (Series tied at 1-1) | WP: Trey Keegan | LP: Devin Daugherty
The Brown team bounced back nicely with a bottom-of-the-sixth, come-from-behind victory over the Orange to even up the series at a game apiece. Trailing 3-2 entering the bottom of the sixth, Aaron Loconsole led off with a single. After a Williams single and Fred Sharp HBP, the table was set for the comeback. With one out in the bottom of the sixth, Bien was hit by a pitch to bring in the tying run. Rait's sacrifice fly, scored Williams for the game-winning run. Bien was 2-2 with an RBI in game two. #T.J. Losby was 1-2 with 2 RBI. Kubuski and Tyler Greiner# paced the Orange with two hits each.
GAME 3: 11-1 Brown (Brown leads series 2-1) | WP: Mike Frank | LP: Trevor Blaylock
Mike Frank showed his dominating potential in game three, going 3.2 innings without allowing a baserunner. He struck out seven before reaching his pitch limit for the day. The Brown jumped out to an insurmountable lead, scoring runs in each of the first four innings. Bien (3-4), Losby (two singles, 3 RBI), Rait (single, HR), and Brandon Howard (single, triple, 3 RBI) paced the Brown. The Orange was led by Jeremy Shay (2-3) and Kubuski (HR).
GAME 4: 3-2 Brown (Brown wins series 3-1) | WP: Rob Zenas | LP: Devin Daugherty
The Brown once again came-from-behind to win the Fall World Series, defeating the Orange 3-2 on Tuesday afternoon. With one out in the bottom of the sixth, Loconsole would drive in the winning run with an RBI single. Loconsole was 2-3 on the afternoon.
