YPSILANTI, Mich.—The Bowling Green State University baseball team came from behind on Wednesday night, defeating Eastern Michigan 11-8 in 10 innings on the road. The game was played at EMU's Oestrike Stadium. The win improved the Falcons to 20-20 on the season and was their 14th win in their last 18 games.
The Falcons jumped out to an early 6-2 lead in Wednesday night's game, but EMU came roaring back with five runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 7-6 lead. The Eagles would tack on a run in the sixth to increase their lead to 8-6.
Bowling Green wouldn't surrender, though, as they would tie the game in the top of the eighth inning with two runs of their own, both with two outs.
With a runner on third base and two outs in the top of the eighth, Jeremy Shay would single to close the deficit to just one run, at 8-7. After a Jake Thomas walk, Logan Walker would single home Shay to tie the game.
Trevor Blaylock tossed three scoreless innings out of the bullpen, picking up the win while allowing just two hits. His performance would allow the Falcons to push the game into extra innings tied at eight, and put up three runs in the 10th.
In the top of the 10th inning, Brandon Howard would walk and steal second base with one out. Thomas would then double to left-center field to give the Falcons the lead, as Howard scored on the play. After walks to both Shay and Logan Walker, Tyler Greiner would score two with an infield single to short.
