>>FALCONS ON TAP
- The No. 12 ranked Bowling Green State University hockey team will travel to Big Rapids, Michigan to take on the Bulldogs of Ferris State University.
- The Falcons and Bulldogs will face-off for game one on Friday, Dec. 7 at 7:07 pm, and then again on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 7:07 pm. Both games will be hosted by Ferris State in side the Robert L. Ewigleben Ice Arena.
- This will be the first of two series matchups between these two squads during the 2018-19 season as the Bulldogs will travel to Bowling Green in January.
>>VERSUS FERRIS STATE
- All-time, the Bowling Green Falcons hold a 68-59-12 advantage over Ferris State.
- This will be the first of two series between these two squads during the 2018-19 season as Ferris State will travel to Bowling Green in January.
- The Falcons have won 13 of the last 15 matchups against the Bulldogs, including a sweep on the road in Big Rapids, Mich. during the 2017-18 season by scores of 6-3, and 3-0.
- Bowling Green swept Ferris State in the First Round of the WCHA Playoffs in March, 2018 by scores of 2-1 (OT), and 5-2 to win a best-of-three playoff series the last eight consecutive years, including all five as members of the WCHA.
>>LAST TIME OUT
- Bowling Green completed their first sweep of a WCHA opponent last weekend winning both games against Alabama Huntsville by final scores of 6-2 and 2-1. They enter this weekend with an overall record of 10-3-2.
- On Saturday (Dec. 1), the Falcons outshot the Chargers 30 to 28 finding the back of the net six times.
- Sam Craggs would score first for BGSU early in the first period. Adam Smith scored his first goal of the season to put the Falcons back ahead in the second before Lukas Craggs would join him in the score column.
- Max Johnson and Cameron Wright would keep the Falcons ahead in the third period with a pair of power play goals.
- Lukas Craggs would score one more time netting his second of the night for the Orange and Brown. This was the fourth multi-goal game of his career with Bowling Green.
- The Falcons would complete the sweep on Sunday (Dec. 2) evening, getting 37 shots on goal to UAH's 14. Bowling Green would find the back of the net twice.
- Casey Linkenheld would put the Falcons up early batting the puck in on a one timer. Alabama Huntsville would get their only goal of the contest on an own goal from BGSU following a passing error during a delayed penalty.
- Lukas Craggs would score the game winning goal early in the third period to lift the Falcons over the Chargers. This was his third goal of the series.
- Upon this sweep, Bowling Green has now won three straight games.
>>STATISTICAL STANDOUTS
- For the third straight week, the Bowling Green Falcons lead the nation in team defense now sitting tied for first with a goals-against-per-game average of 1.67. This also leads the WCHA outright in team defense.
- Bowling Green's penalty kill is now up to third in the nation with a percentage of .881. This unit is also tied for first in shorthanded goals with four.
- Bowling Green scored a total of eight goals in their two games at Alabama Huntsville. They have outscored their opponents by a total of 55 to 25. Nationally, the Falcons are now tied for ninth overall in team offense, posting a goals-per-game average of 3.7.
- Lukas Craggs had the hot stick for Bowling Green offensively in their sweep of Alabama Huntsville scoring three goals over two games. His pair of goals on Saturday (Dec. 1) was the fourth multi-goal game of his career and his first of the 2018-19 campaign. His game winning goal on Sunday (Dec. 2) was his ninth of the season thus far, which is now the team high. His career total is up to 26, and he is now on a two game scoring streak.
- Max Johnson scored his sixth power play goal of the season in Saturday's (Dec.1) contest also adding three assists. His four point game was his fourth multi-point game of the 2018-19 season. The sophomore now has 10 multi-point games in his career.
- Brandon Kruse tallied two assists in Saturday's (Dec. 1) game, and one in Sunday's (Dec. 2). This brings his point total to 18 on the 2018-19 season so far. This is enough for him to lead the team in points going into this weekend. His 18 points also has him sitting third in WCHA scoring, while his teammate Max Johnson sits in fourth place. Kruse is tied for number 12 in the nation in scoring.
- With its 23-12-6 overall record, 2017-18 marked the fourth consecutive season that the Falcons have reached the 20-win milestone. The four-year stint is the third longest in program history, behind a nine season, and six season stretch.
>>NATIONALLY RANKED
- For the third week in a row, the Bowling Green Falcons find themselves ranked No. 12 in the most recent USCHO.com poll (Dec. 3).
- While down slightly from their season high this year (No. 9 on Oct. 29), this is the highest Bowling Green hockey has been ranked since March 16, 2015 when the Falcons were ranked No. 9. The last time BGSU was ranked higher than No. 9 was February 16, 2015 when they were No. 8.
 >>PRESEASON POLLS PEG BOWLING GREEN
- Bowling Green was voted to finish second overall in the UAHhockey.com WCHA Media preseason poll, and third in the 2018 Mankato Free Press preseason poll.
- Junior Falcon defenseman Alec Rauhauser was voted First Team All-WCHA by both the media and the coaches. Rauhuaser's contributions to the 2017-18 campaign included leading the squad with 39 points by nine goals and a team-leading 30 assists. The 39 points marked the most by a single Falcon since the 2008-09 season.Â
- Three more Falcons were voted Second Team All-WCHA by the media. Sophomore forward Brandon Kruse, senior defenseman Chris Pohlkamp and junior goaltender Ryan Bednard all made the cut.
>>2018-19 FALCON HOCKEY OUTLOOK
- For the upcoming season, the Falcons will look to return 12 of 16 forwards, all seven defensemen, and all three goaltenders from the 2017-18 campaign that saw the Falcons claim a Great Lakes Invitational Championship.
- Bowling Green garnered 159 points in the media preseason poll, and 76 points in the coaches'. The Falcons also had one vote for the top finish on the year in the media preseason poll.

 >>COMING INTO THIS SEASON
- With an overall record of 23-12-6 in 2017-18, it marked the Falcons' fourth consecutive 20+ win season and fifth straight winning season. Bowling Green had records 21-18-2 in the 2016-17 campaign, 22-14-6 in the 2015-16 campaign, and a 23-11-5 record in the 2014-15 season. Last year was the 22nd season that the Falcons have tallied a 20-plus win season.
- By competing in the WCHA Championship at the end of the 2016-17 season, it marked Bowling Green's first conference championship appearance since 1988.
