ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Bowling Green State University baseball team opened up a three-game series at the University of Michigan on Friday with an 8-6 loss. Michigan scored eight unanswered runs to earn the come-from-behind win.
"That second inning was probably the best offensive inning that we had all season. It was really great," said head coach Danny Schmitz. "It's frustrating because I thought we beat ourselves today. We made too many unforced errors, and a good team will take advantage of that."
Bowling Green scored six runs in the second to take a 6-0 lead, but Michigan countered with a six-run third, before plating two more runs in the fifth. Three Bowling Green errors allowed Michigan to score eight unearned runs.
The Falcons and Wolverines will resume the series tomorrow afternoon with a 2 p.m. first pitch. The series finale on Sunday is slated for a 1 p.m. first pitch.
