BGSU OPENS HOME SCHEDULE WITH 2-1 RECORD
After playing its first 12 games of the season away from home, Bowling Green opened its home schedule last week, posting a 2-1 record.
Â
On March 13, BGSU opened its home schedule with a 6-3 victory over Oakland University. David Stopp picked up his first-career win, throwing 3.0 innings of one-run ball. Jeremy Spezia blanked the Golden Grizzles over the final two frames to earn the second save of his career. Mike Malewitz drove in two runs, while Jake Wilson, Brad Croy, Neil Lambert and Ryan Johnston posted two hits apiece.
Â
A scheduled four-game set versus Siena College (March 16-17) was shortened to two games due to inclement weather and field conditions. After Siena grabbed a 9-7 win in the opener, the Falcons scored three runs in the eighth inning with two outs to earn a 3-1 win. With the score tied, Croy's two-RBI single up the middle gave the Falcons the lead for good. Tyler Hays threw 6.0 innings of one-run ball (unearned run), while Spezia logged a scoreless ninth to pick up his second save in as many outings.
