Late-Inning Rally Sends Michigan Past Bowling Green

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Bowling Green State University baseball team was defeated by the University of Michigan by a score of 10-5 on Wednesday (April 17) evening. The ballgame was played at UM's Wilpon Complex. A near two-hour delay took place during the bottom of the seventh inning, as both teams waited out a lightning delay.
Michigan, which just dropped out of the top 25 this week, is now 25-11 on the season with the victory. With the loss, Bowling Green sits at 12-20.
The Wolverines scored five runs in the sixth and three runs in the seventh to completely change the outlook of the ballgame. The Falcons owned a 3-2 lead prior to Michigan's five-run frame.
Jeff Scott (2-for-4), Jake Wilson (3-for-5) and Brad Croy (4-for-5) each had big days at the plate for the Falcons. Both of Scott's hits were doubles, and he also scored three runs. Croy had one double and registered three RBI. Wilson scored two runs.
Bowling Green's other hits were recorded by Riley Minorik and Neil Lambert. Chase Antle, Adam Dearinger, Will MacLean and Jeremy Spezia each logged a single inning of scoreless baseball. Danny Weidmayer and Andrew Oehmke made their collegiate debuts on the night.
