
BGSU Pitching Staff Combines 13 Strikeouts In 5-2 Loss At Lipscomb

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Bowling Green State University baseball team was defeated on Saturday (Feb. 15) afternoon by a score of 5-2 at Lipscomb University. The Bisons jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning, and maintained a lead throughout the duration of the ballgame. The series is being played at LU's Dugan Field.
Lipscomb has claimed the first two games of the series. The series finale is slated for a 2 p.m. EST start on Sunday (Feb. 16). The game will be streamed live for free on YouTube.
Sophomore Tyler Hays got the start for the Falcons, allowing just two hits and one earned run over 4.0 innings while striking out seven batters. Fellow sophomore Gage Schenk fired 2.0 scoreless innings, striking out four in the process. Freshman southpaw Rigo Ramos made his collegiate debut, collecting his first-career strikeout over 0.2 innings of scoreless work.
Freshmen Kyle Gurney and Nathan Rose each went 2-for-4 at the plate for the Falcons. The rookies each drove in runs for Bowling Green, as well. Rose poked an RBI single into center in the second, while Gurney doubled home another run in the ninth.
BGSU's other hits were recorded by freshmen, as well. Jack Krasuse and Tyler Ross posted one hit apiece.
