BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball team was defeated by the Ball State University Cardinals on Friday (April 30) by a score of 12-0. The contest served as the opener for the four-game series. The Mid-American Conference ballgame was played at Steller Field at Gary Haas Stadium.

BGSU drops to 9-12 in MAC play with the loss, while the first-place Cardinals improve to 17-4. The Cardinals broke the game open with a six-run fourth inning. BSU's offense posted 12 hits on the afternoon.

Relief pitchers Landon Willeman and David Stopp combined to give up just three hits over the final 3.1 innings of play. Each pitcher registered one strikeout. Dylan Dohanos and Anthony Toma collected one hit apiece for the Orange and Brown.

The four-game set will resume on Saturday (May 1) with a 12:05 p.m. doubleheader. The finale is set for 1:05 p.m. on Sunday (May 2).
