Abrahamowicz Logs Season-High Seven Strikeouts In Series Finale

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball program concluded the weekend series against the Central Michigan Chippewas on Sunday (April 17) at Steller Field. The Falcons saw a strong start from Andrew Abrahamowicz with the senior striking out a season-high seven, including a stretch of five straight over the first three innings. However, a six-run fifth inning put Central Michigan ahead, eventually capturing a 9-0 win to extend their winning streak to 17 straight MAC wins. As for the Falcons, they will now turn their attention to next weekend's series against the Western Michigan Broncos at home.

The Falcons will return to Steller Field next weekend to host the Western Michigan Broncos for a four-game series. The first game is set for a 3:05 p.m. first pitch on Friday (April 22). That game will mark the start of Alumni Weekend for BGSU Baseball as well as being Superhero Day.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After four scoreless innings to start the game, Central Michigan tallied six in the top of the fifth, including a grand slam.
- The Chippewas added two runs to the tally in the top of the seventh to make it 8-0.
- Central registered another run in the ninth. Back-to-back singles pushed the score to 9-0.

- Andrew Abrahamowicz struck out a season-high seven batters in the start for the Falcons, including five straight.
- Kyle Gurney drew a season-high three walks in the game against the Chippewas. He was also able to steal his third bag of the season.
- Levi Gazarek didn't allow an earned run in the game for the Falcons. Gazarek now has seven straight appearances of allowing two earned runs or fewer and has done so in nine of his 11 outings this season.
- Tyler Haas had the Falcons' lone double of the game, his third of the season.
