Owen Poole Tosses Scoreless Relief Frame For Falcons
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Bowling Green State University baseball team began the weekend series against No. 8 Tennessee on Friday (March 1). A second inning home run for Tyler Ross tallied BGSU's lone run of the game while the Volunteers tallied 11 for an 11-1 final in eight innings. In relief, Owen Poole pitched a scoreless frame for the Falcons while Luke Krouse gave up just one over two innings of work.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first run crossed in the bottom of the first. DJ Newman struck out the first batter he faced followed by a ground out. However, a two-out home run pushed the Vols in front 1-0.
- The Falcons quickly answered in the top half of the second. Tyler Ross began the inning with a line drive to right field, clearing the fence next to the scoreboard to knot it up 1-1.
- The home run derby continued in the bottom half with Tennessee belting a ball to left to reclaim the lead at 2-1.
- The Volunteers added three runs in the third with an RBI single and two sacrifice flies to push the score to 5-1 through three innings.
- A two-run home run followed by a solo jack for Tennessee in the fifth inning extended their lead with the back-to-back blasts. A sacrifice fly later in the fifth pushed it to 9-1.
- Two RBI singles in the eighth inning pushed the Tennessee advantage to 11-1 for the final in eight innings.

- With Tyler Ross' home run, the Falcons have now hit a home run in six of the first seven games of the season. The home run was Ross' second of the season.
- Sam Seidel drew a walk for the Orange and Brown. He's now reached base in all seven of Bowling Green's games this season, the only player on the roster to do so.
- Owen Poole made his second appearance for Bowling Green, coming on in relief. Poole tossed a scoreless frame and struck out one, keeping his 0.00 ERA intact.
