Landon Roque Hits First BGSU Home Run
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Nathan Archer began the game with a ball in play to short. An error allowed Archer to make his way to third. He attempted to score on a ball hit by Sam Seidel, but a fielder's choice caught him at home.
- In the bottom of the first, a walk and a pair of singles scored the first run of the game for Xavier.
- Archer brought BGSU's answer with two outs in the third inning, blasting a solo home run to right center to knot the score at 1-1.
- In the bottom of the third, a leadoff double followed by a single put runners at the corners for Xavier. A fielder's choice scored one for a 2-1 lead.
- Xavier stretched their lead to 4-1 with a two-run home run in the bottom of the fourth.
- In the top of the fifth, Brady Birchmeier knocked a one-out single. Cooper McKenzie drew a walk to put two on. Seidel delivered a hit down the right field line, scoring Birchmeier for a 4-2 score.
- A bases loaded walk for Xavier in the bottom half pushed their lead to 5-2.
- The Musketeers added to their lead in the seventh with a three-run home run. A triple and an error followed for a 9-2 lead. Later in the inning, a double steal made it a 10-2 score.
- In the ninth, Landon Roque stepped in as a pinch hitter and knocked his first home run as a Falcon to cut into the lead, 10-3.

- Nathan Archer's third inning home run marked his third of the series, lifting him to a team-leading seven home runs on the season.
- Sam Seidel hit an RBI single in the fifth inning to push his on-base streak to 20 games to begin the season, marking all 20 games Seidel has played in this season. Going back to last season, Seidel has now reached in 31 straight games.
- Jack Krause singled in the fourth inning to push his on-base streak to 12 games, the third-longest active streak on the roster.
- Leighton Banjoff reached base once with a single, stretching his on-base streak to eight games for Bowling Green.
- Landon Roque hit a pinch hit home run in the ninth inning, his second hit as a Falcon and his first home run.
UP NEXT
The Falcons will conclude the series with Xavier on Saturday (March 30) with a 1 p.m. start. The Falcons will then play a midweek against Oakland on Tuesday (April 2) at 2:30 p.m. BGSU's next MAC series is against Northern Illinois on April 5-7 and their next home game is scheduled for April 10 at 3 p.m. against Purdue Fort Wayne.
