Falcons Fall To WMU, Set To Face Ball State Saturday Afternoon

BGSU, BSU Set For Saturday Showdown With MAC Championship Appearance On The Line
AVON, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball team took on the Western Michigan Broncos in the MAC Semifinals on Friday (May 24). Western Michigan held the Falcons scoreless in an 11-0 final. The Falcons will move into an elimination game on Saturday (May 25) against Ball State at 12:30 p.m. with the winner taking on Western Michigan in the championship at 6 p.m.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the top of the first, Western Michigan registered four straight singles to begin the game for a 1-0 lead. The Broncos added two more in the inning for a 3-0 score.
- Jack Krause logged the first hit of the game for the Falcons, legging out an infield single in the second inning.
- TJ Takats began the third inning with an infield single to third, but a double play for WMU on the next contact negated the runner.
- WMU added five runs in the top of the sixth, including a two-run home run, to extend their lead to 8-0.
- In the seventh, Garrett Wright found a hole up the middle for a hit, but was unable to advance beyond first.
- WMU added three in the top of the ninth to push the lead to 11-0.

- Out of the bullpen, Perry Miller tossed an inning and a third of scoreless baseball for the Falcons. It's his sixth scoreless appearance on the season and first since April 26.
- After a 4-for-5 day on Thursday (May 23) in the first BGSU game of the tournament, Jack Krause carried his hot bat into a single in his first at-bat of the game, reaching in three consecutive games.
- Garrett Wright singled in the seventh inning to bring his on-base streak to seven games for the Falcons.
