Falcons Open Up CCHA Play with 4-1 Victory at Lake Superior State

SAULT. STE MARIE, Mich. – Jaden Grant scored two after Dominik Rymon got the Falcons on the board as BGSU won their CCHA opening matchup against Lake Superior State, 4-1. Bowling Green outshot the Lakers 45 to 28, winning the shots on goal battle yet again.
How it happened
- A hard fought first period ended scoreless, with both teams having unsuccessful power play attempts.
- Dominik Rymon opened the scoring for the Falcons with 7:18 remaining in the second, cashing in on a loose rebound to earn his first career CCHA goal and the Falcons first powerplay goal of the season.
- The Lakers leveled the score on the power play with 18 seconds remaining in the second period.
- The Falcons jumped out to an early lead in the third period through Jaden Grant, who cashed in on a loose puck in front of the net.
- Jaden Grant doubled the Falcons advantage just minutes later on the power play, as he drove hard to the net and found a loose pass from Quinn Emerson with 17:36 remaining in the third.
- The Lakers cut the deficit to one with 4:50 remaining in the third, but the goal was disallowed due to an offside call on a successful challenge from head coach Dennis Williams.
- Connor Levis fired in the empty netter with under two minutes to play, extending the Falcons advantage to three goals.
- Tyler Palmer earned his first win as a Falcon, as he stopped 27 shots in the contest
