Scheiderer Extends On-Base Streak To Team-Leading 13 Games
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Michigan State tallied the first run of the game with one in the second inning for a 1-0 score. MSU added four in the third for a 5-0 advantage.
- Bowling Green got on the board in the fourth. Anthony Mitta ripped a one-out double down the right field line before taking third in a wild pitch. A walk to Zack Horky put runners at the corners with a TJ Takats double down the right field line scoring both Mitta and Horky.
- Takats later took third on a wild pitch before scoring on a Carter Mottice single through the left side for a 5-3 score.
- The Spartans answered with one in the bottom of the fourth for a 6-3 tally.
- The back-and-forth continued in the fifth. Griffin Scheiderer knocked a leadoff single before Sam Seidel was hit by a pitch to put two on for the Falcons. A single from Horky later in the inning brought home Scheiderer to cut the score to 6-4.
- Michigan State again answered with one in the bottom half of the frame to push their lead back to 7-4. A five-run seventh extended the MSU lead to 12-4, the eventual final.
