Dan Fischer was named an Assistant Athletic Trainer in July 2010, working primarily with the men's ice hockey and women’s golf programs and supervises coverage of the baseball and women’s tennis programs.
Fischer is also the Insurance Coordinator of all 18 BGSU Varsity Programs. In addition, he is responsible for purchasing of all supplies to meet the needs of the sports medicine program.
Prior to returning to BGSU, Fischer was an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Austin Peay State University in September of 2009, where he supervised the volleyball and softball programs.
Fischer was a graduate assistant in the BGSU sports medicine department from 2007-09, supervising the athletic training for the men’s soccer and softball programs, while assisting with football. During that time, he was the recipient of the Bernard A. Frick Endowment, which is awarded to qualified candidates that display a dedication and exceptional work ethics in the field of athletic training while being a graduate assistant.
He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training from Missouri State University in May of 2007. He received his Master's Degree in Sport Administration from Bowling Green in May of 2009.
Fischer is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), as well as, the Professional Hockey Athletic Trainers Society (PHATS).
