Baseball Loses At EMU On Saturday, 6-0

YPSILANTI, Mich.—The Bowling Green State University baseball team was defeated by Eastern Michigan on Saturday afternoon, 6-0. The Falcons struggled offensively against Steve Weber, who went the distance for the win. With the win Eastern Michigan is now 22-23 overall, and 12-8 in the MAC. With the loss, the Falcons drop to 18-27 overall, and 7-13 in Mid-American Conference action.
The Falcons would bookend the game with a runner reaching third base for the only two times in the game. Jake Thomas led off the game with a single, but was stranded at third base with three straight groundouts. Alex Davison led off the ninth with an infield single, but he would also be stranded at third base to end the game.
Jake Thomas was the lone Falcon to reach base multiple times in the ballgame. Thomas, who singled to lead off the game, was also walked in the sixth and ninth innings.
Only two Falcon starters had hits, as Jesse Rait joined Thomas in the hit column. The other two Falcon hits came via substitutions, as Brandon Howard and Davison each singled in their only plate appearances of the afternoon.
Ethan McKenney got the start for the Falcons, going four innings, and suffering his seventh loss of the season. Jason Link went 2.1 innings in relief, allowing just one run. Trevor Blaylock finished the game up for BG, going the final 1.2 innings, while not allowing a hit.
The Falcons and Eagles will finish up the three-game series tomorrow afternoon at 1 pm. Senior Patrick Martin will get the start for the Falcons.
