Snapping The Streak
The Falcons 4-2 win on Tuesday snapped a four-game losing streak to the Irish at the BGSU Ice Arena. Prior to Tuesday, Bowling Green's last win against Notre Dame at home came back on Nov. 5, 2010.
Very Lucky
Sophomore Ryan Carpenter secured a goal and as assist on Tuesday, giving him eight career points against Notre Dame to lead all current Falcons. Carpenter's two-point night extended his point streak to six games against Notre Dame, as he has secured at least a point in every game he has ever played against the Irish. Carpenter also extended his overall scoring streak to six games, a new career high.
Snapped Streaks
While Ryan Carpenter was able to extend his point streak, Dajon Mingo's came to an end. Mingo's career best five-game point streak came to an end against Notre Dame Tuesday, marking the first time he had not recorded a point in a game since Dec. 8 against Alaska (3-3 Tie).
Back-To-Back
Goaltender Andrew Hammond stopped 20 shots Tuesday night, backstopping the Orange and Brown to a 4-2 win. Hammond's victory marks the first time this season that he has recorded wins in back-to-back games. Hammond has not lost a game since Dec. 15 against Notre Dame, and is now 3-0-1 in his last four starts.
Success As Of Late
With the win on Tuesday the Falcons are currently on a three-game win streak, combining with a tie against Canisius (1/5/13) and a win against Niagara (12/29/12) for a five-game unbeaten streak. Bowling Green's last three-game win streak came last year in the CCHA Playoffs, including the final two games against Northern Michigan, and the first tilt against Ferris State in round two (March 3-9). The Falcons last five-game unbeaten streak came back at the beginning of last season, when they opened the year 4-0-1.
Ranked Victory
Bowling Green's 4-2 win over No. 5 Notre Dame marked the second ranked opponent the Falcons have beaten this season, including their 3-0 win against No. 17 Niagara on Dec. 29. Tuesday's win also marked the first top-five team that the Falcons have beaten this season, and the first at the BGSU Ice Arena since Feb. 24, 2012, a 4-3 win against No. 3 Michigan.
Four Conference Wins

The Orange and Brown won five conference games total last season, going 5-9-4-3 in CCHA play.
