Finally
The victory against Niagara marks Bowling Green's first home win of the season, putting the Falcons' home record at 1-7-2 in 2012-13. Bowling Green's last home win came on Feb. 24, 2012, a 4-3 win over Michigan.
Shutout Numbers
Hammond's shut out win puts him only one away from tying Tyler Masters (99-03) as Bowling Green's all-time leader in career shutouts (7). Bowling Green's 3-0 win also marks the first time since Feb. 3, 2006 (Jon Horrell) that the Falcons shut out a non-conference opponent at home. Bowling Green's most recent shut out win at home came back on Feb. 21, 2009, a 19-save effort from Jimmy Spratt in a 4-0 win over Michigan State.
CCHA Goaltender Of The Week
Andrew Hammond was named the CCHA Goaltender Of The Week on Wednesday, marking the third conference honor given to Bowling Green this season. Freshman goaltender Tommy Burke was named rookie of the week at the end of October, while senior Bobby Shea was named defenseman of the week on Dec. 10th. Hammond was named the CCHA Goaltender Of The Week once last season, coming back on Oct. 17, 2011. Bowling Green earned three weekly conference honors total last season.
Ranked
Bowling Green's win against No. 17 Niagara marks the first ranked opponent that the Falcons have defeated this year. Bowling Green's last win against a ranked opponent came in the CCHA Playoffs last season, when the Falcons defeated No. 2 Ferris State, 4-3, on March 11, 2012.
Power-Play Goal(s)
The Falcons' two power-play goals against Niagara marked the first time this season that they have scored multiple power-play goals in the same game. The last time the Orange and Brown scored two power-play goals in a game was back on Nov. 19, 2011, when the Falcons skated to a 4-4 tie(SOW) against Miami.
Oddity
Bowling Green has scored a power-play goal in eight games this season, including the Falcons' two- goal effort against Niagara. Saturday marked the first time this season that Bowling Green won a game while also scoring a power-play goal. The Falcons are now 1-5-2 when scoring on the power play. Oddly enough, Saturday also marked the first time this season that the Orange and Brown outshot an opponent and came out victorious. Bowling Green is now 1-3-3 when outshooting an opponent this season.
Mingo On The Board
Dajon Mingo secured the third Falcon goal Saturday night, also adding an assist on the first Falcon score of the evening. Mingo's tally snapped a personal 13-game goal drought, dating back to the Falcons' 3-1 win over Colgate (Oct. 19). Mingo's two point night tied his career high (also Oct. 19).
The Closer
The Falcons carried a 1-0 lead into the third period against Niagara Saturday night, eventually coming away with the 3-0 win. The Falcons are undefeated taking a lead into the third period this season, going 4-0-1.
Welcome Back Willy
Junior Bryce Williamson scored the first goal against Niagara Saturday night, followed by an assist on the second Falcon goal. Williamson's two-point night marked his first multi-point game of the season, and first since Feb. 24 in the Falcons' 4-3 win over Michigan last year.
Sully
Sophomore Mike Sullivan continues to produce for Bowling Green, securing two assists in the Falcons' 3-0 win against Niagara. Sullivan's two helpers marked the first multi-assist game of his career, and extended his current point streak to four games.
He Cam Do It
Junior Cam Wojtala scored the second Falcon goal Saturday night, giving him two goals in the past three contests. Wojtala now has five goals on the year, tying him with sophomore Ryan Carpenter and freshman Mark Cooper for the team lead.

Junior Tony Capobianco anchored the Griffs defense on the night, stopping 35 shots. Capobianco held his opponent to one or fewer goals for the eighth time this season and for the sixth time in the last seven contests.
