A Seven Spot
The Falcons' seven-goal output Saturday marks the highest scoring game for the Orange and Brown since Dec. 30, 2005 when they defeated UConn, 9-2. Bowling Green's last conference game with at least seven goals also came back in 2005, an 8-4 win over Northern Michigan on Nov. 4.

Welcome Home
The Falcons' win Saturday pushes their home winning streak to five games, their largest of the season. Bowling Green's five-game winning streak at the BGSU Ice Arena is the first since 2005, when the Falcons rolled off six-straight wins from Jan. 7 – Feb. 25.

Four Points
Freshman Mark Cooper scored two goals and added two assists Saturday night, giving him his first career multi-point game. Cooper's two-goal output marks the second time this season that a Falcon has scored multiple goals in a game. The first came back on Jan. 8, when junior Bryce Williamson netted two against Michigan. Cooper's four-point night is the first since March 11, 2012 when Dan DeSalvo scored three goals and added an assist against Ferris State in the CCHA Playoffs.
11 Goals
The Falcons scored a total of 11 goals over the weekend set with Lake Superior, including four goals Friday and seven goals Saturday. The last time Bowling Green scored 11 goals in a series was Nov. 18-19, 2005, when the Falcons scored 11 in a split with Northern Michigan.
Power Play Conversion
The Falcons had one of their better nights on the power play Saturday night, converting 2-of-5 opportunities. Saturday marked only the second time this season that the Falcons scored multiple power-play goals in a game, the first coming in their 3-0 win against Niagara on Dec. 29.

CCHA Teams In Bold
Earlier This Season Against Michigan State
The Bowling Green State University ice hockey team defeated Michigan State in their first meeting, shutting out the Spartans, 1-0, to earn their second win of the season. Sophomore Connor Kucera scored the lone goal for the Falcons, while senior Andrew Hammond stopped 29-of-29 shots in his return between the pipes. Both teams were 0-for-5 on the power play.
The Falcons lost to Michigan State in the second game of their home-and-home series, falling to the Spartans, 6-1, at the BGSU Ice Arena Saturday night.
A Win At Munn
Bowling Green's 1-0 win snapped an eight game winless streak against Michigan State, dating back to Feb. 21, 2009, a 4-0 win at the BGSU Ice Arena. The win also marked the Falcons' first victory in East Lansing since the 2006-07 season, a 2-1 at Munn Ice Arena (Feb. 24, 2007).
Looking For A Win In Bowling Green
While the Falcons were able to snap their winless streak in East Lansing earlier this season, they were unable to secure a win in Bowling Green. The Falcons last win against the Spartans in Bowling Green came back on Feb. 21, 2009, a span of three games.
Season First
Defenseman Mike Sullivan scored the third Falcon goal on Saturday night, his first of the season and second of the career. Sullivan's last goal came in the CCHA Playoffs last season, a 5-3 win over Northern Michigan on March 3.
Three Goals Allowed
The Falcons defeated Lake Superior Saturday night, outscoring the Lakers by a score of 7-3. Saturday night marked the first time this season that Bowling Green has allowed three goals against and still came out with a win. Prior to Saturday, the last time the Falcons allowed three goals and won was March 11, when the Falcons defeated Ferris State, 4-3 (OT), in the CCHA Playoffs.
Falcons Back On The Board
Saturday night's win allowed several Falcons to get back on the score sheet, including juniors Cam Wojtala and Andrew Wallace. Both recorded an assist in the Falcons' 7-3 win. Wallace and Wojtala's helpers marked the first point for both of them since Jan. 8 against Michigan, snapping a streak of six games without a point. Junior Brett Mohler also got involved again this past weekend, snapping an eight-game goal drought with the Falcons' first goal Friday night.
Mingo's On Fire Too
With the success of Ryan Carpenter and Mark Cooper, it comes as no surprise that linemate Dajon Mingo has also been contributing offensively. Mingo is currently on a three-game goal streak, the longest of his career. Mingo added two assists in Saturday night's win, giving him his first multi-assist game. Mingo's three-point night Saturday also marked a new career high.
CCHA Honors
Senior Bobby Shea earned CCHA Defenseman of The Week honors on Feb. 3, marking the fourth conference weekly honor given to Bowling Green this season. Andrew Hammond was named the CCHA Goaltender Of The Week on Jan. 3, while freshman goaltender Tommy Burke was named rookie of the week at the end of October. Shea was named defenseman of the week earlier this season on Dec. 10th. Bowling Green earned three weekly conference honors total last season.
Getting Votes
The Falcons received one vote in the latest USCHO Poll, marking the first time this season that Bowling Green has gotten a vote. The last time Bowling Green received votes was April 9, 2012, when the Falcons got five votes after their run to Joe Louis Arena.
Conference Wins
After the weekend sweep of Lake Superior, the Falcons sit at 7- 10-3-1 in the conference, tied for eighth place with Michigan. This season marks the most CCHA wins for the Falcons since the 2008-09 campaign when the Orange ad Brown finished 8-19-1. That season, the Falcons fell in two games to Ohio State in the first round of the CCHA Playoffs.
