Last Week
The Bowling Green State University ice hockey team lost to Notre Dame Friday night, falling to the Fighting Irish by a score of 4-3 at the Compton Family Ice Arena. Freshmen Ben Murphy, Brent Tate and junior Brett Mohler scored for the Falcons, while freshman Tommy Burke (5-7-2) stopped 8-of-11 shots. Senior Andrew Hammond also saw action, stopping 13-of-14 shots in relief of Burke. Both teams scored twice on the power play, with Bowling Green going 2-for-4 and Notre Dame going 2-for-3 with the man advantage.

Two On The Power Play
The Falcons netted two power play goals against Notre Dame Friday night, marking the fourth game this season they have scored multiple power play goals in a game. The last time came against Michigan State in a 2-1 win on Feb. 8 at the BGSU Ice Arena. Friday night marked the first game this season in which the Falcons have scored multiple power play goals in a game and lost.
Carpenter Held Scoreless
Sophomore Ryan Carpenter was held without a point in Friday night's 4-3 loss to the Irish, snapping his six-game scoring streak against Notre Dame. Friday night marked the first game in Carpenter's career that he did not register at least a point against Notre Dame. Carpenter was also held off the board in Saturday night's 4-1 loss. Carpenter still leads BG with eight career points against the Irish.
Burke Pulled
Freshman goaltender Tommy Burke was pulled in Friday night's contest, marking the first time he has been pulled in his young career. Senior Andrew Hammond came in to play in relief, marking the first time Hammond has replaced a starting goaltender since Jan. 28, 2011 in a 4-2 loss to Lake Superior.

Sophomore Dan DeSalvo recorded two assists in the Falcons' loss to Notre Dame Friday, marking his fourth multi-assist game of the season. DeSalvo now has 19 assists this season, tying Carpenter's team-high from 2011-12. The last Falcon to record at least 20 assists in a season was Dan Sexton during the 2008-09 campaign, when he registered 22.

Welcome Ralfs
Freshman Ralfs Freibergs recorded an assist in the Falcons' 4-3 loss to Notre Dame Friday night, giving him assists in back-to-back games to start his career at Bowling Green. Fellow freshmen Dajon Mingo and Brent Tate also recorded points in their first two games of college hockey. Freibergs was held without a point in Saturday's game, giving his first pointless game of his college career. Tate recorded a point in three-straight games to start his career, while Mingo recorded a point in his first four games.
The Last Day
The Falcons' lost to Notre Dame Saturday night, dropping a 4-1 decision to the Irish on the final game of the regular season. Under coach Bergeron the Falcons have never won on the final day of the regular season, going 0-3-0 in that span. Bowling Green's last non-loss on the final day of the season was in 2010, a shootout victory against Michigan State on Feb. 27. The Falcons last regulation win on the last day of the regular season came back on Feb. 24, 2007, a 2-1 win over Michigan State.
Pletsch With A Point
Sophomore Ted Pletsch recorded an assist on the lone Falcon goal Saturday night, giving him his first point of the season. Pletsch's point snapped a personal 12-game point drought, dating back to the Falcons' 2-3 loss to Michigan on March 16, 2012. With Pletsch's assists, every Falcon that has played in a game this season has recorded at least one point.
Duel Starts
Freshman goaltender Tommy Burke and senior Andrew Hammond split the weekend series in Notre Dame, marking their first split series since Jan. 5-6 in a road out-of-conference series at Canisius. This past weekend marked the fifth series this season that Burke and Hammond have split time.
Wallace Getting Hot
Junior Andrew Wallace scored the lone goal in the Falcons' 4-1 loss to Notre Dame Saturday night, giving him four points in the last four games. Wallace now has three goals this season, setting a new season high. Combined with his five assists, Wallace now has eight points in 2012-13, also a career high.
Four Goals Allowed
Notre Dame scored four goals on the Falcons both nights over the two-game set, giving the Fighting Irish eight goals on the weekend. This past series marked the first time since the Falcons' home series against Union (Oct. 12-13) that Bowling Green allowed four goals or more in both games.

Bowling Green finished the final season of the CCHA with a record of 13-18-5, with a record of 10-15-3 in the CCHA for a ninth-place finish. The Last Time Against Lake Superior
The Bowling Green State University ice hockey team defeated the Lake Superior State Lakers in their first meeting at the BGSU Ice Arena, by a final of 4-1. Brett Mohler, Dajon Mingo, Dan DeSalvo and Ben Murphy all scored for the Falcons, while goaltender Andrew Hammond stopped 25-of-26 shots on the night. Domenic Monardo scored the lone goal for the Lakers, and junior goaltender Kevin Kapalka stopped 29 of the Falcons' 31 shots. Bowling Green went 1-for-6 on the power play, and Lake Superior State was held to 0-for-3 with the man advantage.
The Falcons defeated Lake Superior the following night, dominating the Lakers in a 7-3 victory. Brent Tate, Mike Sullivan, Ryan Carpenter, Bryce Williamson and Dajon Mingo all scored for the Falcons, including a two-goal output from Mark Cooper. The First Sweep
Bowling Green's last meeting with Lakers resulted in a sweep of the conference series, the first for the program since Nov. 15-16, 2008 when the Falcons defeated Northern Michigan in back-to-back games at the BGSU Ice Arena.

The Falcons' seven-goal output in their last meeting set a season-high and marked the highest scoring game for the Orange and Brown since Dec. 30, 2005 when they defeated UConn, 9-2. The Lakers fell behind early in the game when the Wildcats netted a goal at 13:40 of the first period. NMU maintained a 1-0 lead through the second period of play before scoring the game-winning goal at 1:59 of the third period. Erik Higby netted the game winner for NMU and recorded two assists. The last NMU goal came at the 17-minute mark of the third from Matt Thurber. Lake State's only goal of the night was scored by freshman forward Bryce Schmitt (3-2—5). Schmitt scored a short-handed goal for LSSU, his first of the season, from junior defenseman Andrew Perrault (1-13—14).
Lake Superior State Univeristy finished eighth in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association regular-season standings following Saturday's 3-0 victory at Northern Michigan. The Lakers (16-19-1 overall, 11-16-1-1 CCHA) tallied four short-handed goals during the series split with NMU at the Berry Events Center. All three goals Saturday were short-handed markers. Sophomore forward Stephen Perfetto (6-7--13) tallied the game-winning goal at 2:37 of the second period.
