Bowling Green Travels To Fort Wayne On Wednesday
March 27, 2018 | Baseball
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Bowling Green State University baseball team begins a four-game week by heading to Fort Wayne on Wednesday (March 28). The ballgame is slated for a 3 p.m. first pitch at Fort Wayne's Mastodon Field.
The game marks the only meeting between the Falcons and Mastodons in 2018. The two teams were scheduled to play at Steller Field on March 13, but the game was cancelled due to inclement weather.
Bowling Green is coming off a 3-1 week, capped by a series win over Ohio to open up Mid-American Conference play. The Falcons enter Wednesday's game with an overall record of 6-17. Fort Wayne is 4-15.
"Midweek games can be really important in building momentum for the weekend," said head coach Danny Schmitz. "Last week, we were able to get a really nice win over Dayton, and I think that played a part in us getting off to a fast start on the weekend. This is another opportunity to begin a week with a win."
