Brown Breaks Appearances Record In Series Finale At Kent State

KENT, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball team concluded its weekend conference series at Kent State University on Sunday (May 6) with an 8-1 loss. The game was played at KSU's Schoonover Stadium.
Kent State hit a solo home run in the bottom of the first inning, and led for the remainder of the contest. The league-leading Golden Flashes improve to 32-13 (16-5 MAC) with the win. The Falcons fall to 10-32 (5-14 MAC) with the loss.
Jeremy Spezia shoved 4.0 scoreless innings from out of the BGSU bullpen, while Jeff Scott (2-for-5) and Derek Drewes (2-for-3) recorded multiple hits. Justin Mott drove in BGSU's lone run with a single into center field in the sixth.

Senior left-handed pitcher Kody Brown got the start for the Falcons. By doing so, he broke the all-time program record for appearances. He entered the day tied with Nick Bruns (2010-13) and Neil Schmitz (2001-04) with 91 career appearances. Brown now sits atop the record book with 92 appearances across his successful Orange and Brown career.
