BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University hockey team dropped the second game of a two game series with Michigan Tech on Saturday (Oct. 26) night by a final score of four to two. Bowling Green out shot the Huskies 27 to 25 in the contest. Michigan Tech grabbed a lead in the second period of play before Max Johnson tied it for the Falcons. MTU tallied two more in the second, and one in the third. T.J. Lloyd cut the lead to two with the first goal of his career with BGSU. The Falcons will continue WCHA play next weekend when they travel to Mankato, Minnesota for a two game series with Minnesota State.

Scoring Plays

Parker Saretsky tallied the first goal of the night, going to Michigan Tech at 5:46 into the second period. He was assisted by Alec Broetzman.
The Falcons immediately answered, scoring exactly one minute later with Max Johnson tallying his second goal of the season. He was assisted by Alex Barber and Brandon Kruse.
Later in the second period at 11:45 in, Michigan Tech tacked on their second goal of the night, being credited to Tommy Parrattino with Colin Swoyer on the assist.
Parrattino added his second goal of the night with less than two minutes remaining in the second period, moving the Tech lead to 3-1. Logan Pietila and Chris Lipe had the assists.
Parrattino tallied another at 11:16 into the third period on a power play. Alec Broetzman and Colin Swoyer recorded assists.
T.J. Lloyd lit the lamp for the very first time for the Orange and Brown at 14:27 into the third period. Alex Barber and Brandon Kruse picked up assists.

Other Key Plays

The first period saw the Falcons and Huskies go back-and-forth with neither team able to find the back of the net. Freshman Zack Rose, receiving his first start, halted nine Tech attempts in the first period.
With three minutes remaining in the second period, the Falcons and Huskies traded breakaway shots, but both attempts were stopped by the respective goalies, keeping the score at 2-1 Michigan Tech.

Falcon Stat Facts

Falcon freshman T.J. Lloyd recorded his first career goal for Bowling Green in the third period of tonight's game. He is the first freshman on the roster to light the lamp for the Falcons this season. Lloyd now has three points on the season, which leads the freshman class.
Alex Barber tallied two assists in the contest. This was his first multi-point game of the 2019-20 season, and just the second of the sophomore's career so far.
Brandon Kruse picked up a pair of assists as well. This is also his first multi-point game of the season. He has tallied multiple points 19 times in his career for the Falcons.
A native of Paradise, Newfoundland, Zack Rose became just the second player from the province of Newfoundland to suit up in the Orange and Brown. The first was Denis White of St. John's, Newfoundland who played for BGSU during the 2001-02.

Up Next

The Falcons will travel to Mankato, Minn. next weekend to take on the Mavericks of Minnesota State in a two-game series at the Mankato Civic Center. Currently, Minnesota State is ranked second in the country. The meeting will be the first of the season between the Falcons and Mavericks. They last met in the 2019 WCHA Championship game, which the Mavericks won in overtime.
