Bowling Green Drops Series Opener At Eastern Michigan

YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Bowling Green State University baseball team was defeated by Eastern Michigan University on Friday (April 5) evening by a score of 3-1. The ballgame was played at EMU's Oestrike Stadium in Ypsilanti, Michigan. The Mid-American Conference series will wrap up over the weekend with single games on Saturday (April 6) and Sunday (April 7).
The Falcons drop to 10-15 with the loss. Bowling Green is 4-3 in conference play. With the victory, Eastern Michigan moves to 6-23-1 (1-6 MAC).
Bowling Green's lone run was scored in the fourth inning. Jake Wilson started the frame with a leadoff double. Brad Croy then singled to put runners at the corners, prior to a double play scoring the run and knotting the game at 1-1.
All three of Eastern Michigan's runs were unearned. The Eagles scored in the first, fifth, and seventh innings. EMU's Scott Granzotto picked up the complete-game win for the Eagles.
BGSU's Andrew Abrahamowicz also hurled a complete game. The right-hander scattered three hits, walked two, and posted six punch outs. Croy went 2-for-4 at the plate. Bowling Green's other hits were notched by Wilson, Anthony Smith, Tyler Haas and Neil Lambert.
