Scoring Plays
- Minnesota State found the net first, less than five minutes into the game. Tony Malinowski's shot sailed wide, but David Silye collected it below the goal line. He skated behind the net and up to the slot, where he turned and fired a shot that gave the Mavericks an early lead. Malinowski and Cade Borchardt were credited with the assists.
- Just past the halfway point of the first period, the Falcons were unsuccessful on the power play. However, they maintained the puck when MSU returned to full strength, and Chase Gresock tied the game. Nathan Burke sent the puck from the right to left corner, where Max Coyle was located. He brought it along the boards and over to Anton Malmstrom, who sent a wrister from the blue line. Gresock was placed between the circles and was able to redirect the puck to the right side of the net, where it trickled through for BGSU's first goal. Malmstrom and Coyle earned the assists.
- Early in the second period, Bowling Green was on the penalty kill. On the left boards, Max Coyle poked the puck away from a Maverick, then Adam Pitters obtained it and looked to clear. Quinn Emerson was ready and won the race to the puck, getting an open look and sending a quick shot past the goaltender's glove for his first collegiate point. The shorthanded score was assisted by Pitters and Coyle.
- With under two minutes remaining in the second period, Jake Livingstone sent a pass from the red line to the blue line, finding Brendan Furry. He dropped it to Borchardt at the top of the left circle and his shot his Stoever squarely in the chest. The rebound went directly to Furry, who knocked it back in to tie the game. Assists went to Borchardt and Livingstone.
- The Mavericks began the third period on the power play and took advantage immediately. After winning the faceoff, Sam Morton beat everyone down the ice and lit the lamp with a go-ahead goal just seven seconds into the final period. The power play goal was assisted by Borchardt.
- At the midpoint of the third period, Minnesota State extended the lead with an Adam Eisele goal. Mason Wheeler passed the puck from the left to right along the blue line, finding Andy Carroll. He sent the puck towards the net, where it deflected off Stoever and onto the stick of Eisele. His shot hit the back of the net to extend the Maverick advantage to two. Carroll and Wheeler were given assists.
- Chase Gresock netted his second goal of the season, giving him five points on the year. The fifth-year senior has 37 collegiate goals, the most of anyone on the team. In 107 games played, he has 78 points.
- With his shorthanded goal, Quinn Emerson notched his first collegiate point. It was Bowling Green's second shorthanded score of the season, with the first coming courtesy of Taylor Schneider. Emerson is the first member of this year's freshman class to score a goal.
- Max Coyle recorded his first career multi-point game with a two-assist performance. The assists marked his first two of the season, giving him three points. The assistant captain has seven assists and nine points in his BGSU career, and 11 assists and 13 points in his collegiate career. This is sixth occurrence of a Falcon recording multi-point game this season and third where both points came on assists.
- Evan Dougherty tallied his first assist of the season, extending his point total to two. The assistant captain has eight assists and 24 points in his career.
- Adam Pitters earned an assist, marking his second point and second consecutive night with a point. The senior has 13 assists and 18 points in his career.
- The Falcons blocked 14 shots, with Zach Vinnell earning a team-best four.
- Christian Stoever made 29 saves for the second consecutive night.
- All four of Bowling Green's opponents this season have been ranked or received votes in the USCHO poll at least once this season. Their fifth opponent, Michigan Tech, received seven votes in the latest poll (Oct. 24).
