Falcons Face Ferris State in Final Series of November

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – The Bowling Green Falcons (5-7-0, 4-4-0 CCHA) play their final series of the month, heading north to take on the Ferris State Bulldogs (3-5-2, 1-2-1 CCHA). The Falcons, who sit at first place in the CCHA with 14 points, have won their last three games.They face off against the Bulldogs on Friday, Nov. 18, and Saturday, Nov. 19. Both games begin at 7:07 p.m. ET at R.L. Ewigleben Sports Complex.

Tickets for both games are available starting at $16. Friday's tickets can be purchased HERE and Saturday's can be purchased HERE. Due to ongoing construction, Lot 46 to the east side of the Ewigleben Sports Complex remains closed. Fans should park to the west behind the sports complex for all events.

Opponent Outlook
Ferris State has played four conference games this season, with three going to overtime. They earned an OT win over St. Thomas before losing in regulation the following night. The next weekend, they won in a shootout against Bemidji State before dropping an overtime game to the Beavers. Last weekend, they took a 5-1 exhibition victory over Mercyhurst. Logan Stein has been impressive in net for Ferris State, earning a .928 save percentage and 2.36 goals against average. His save percentage ranks fifth in the conference and 16th nationally, while his GAA is third in the league and 30th in the country. Offensively, FSU is led by reigning CCHA Rookie of the Year Bradley Marek. The forward leads the team in assists (6) and points (9) and is tied for second on the squad with three goals. Freshman Connor McGrath leads the Bulldogs with four goals, two of which have been scored on the power play. Ferris State's penalty kill ranks fifth in the league and 19th nationally, with the Bulldogs killing 34-of-41 penalties.

The Falcons lead the all-time series, 78-62-13. Last season, the teams split both series. In the first series, Ferris State took the first game, 6-3, before Bowling Green rebounded for a 2-1 win. In the first game, Alex Barber notched a pair of power play goals, but the Bulldogs capitalized on five second-period scores. The second game saw the Falcons come from behind in the final period, with Nathan Burke and Austen Swankler scoring the tying and game-winning goals. Christian Stoever made a career-best 41 saves and was named CCHA Goaltender of the Week. The Orange and Brown made a comeback in the first game of the second series, with Taylor Schneider and Evan Dougherty scoring on third period power plays to earn a 4-3 victory. The second game saw each team earn a point in the CCHA standings, but FSU skated away with a 2-1 overtime victory.

- Ryan O'Hara was named CCHA Forward of the Week on Monday (Nov. 14). He recorded a power play goal and two assists against St. Thomas, with his second assist coming on Austen Swankler's game-winning goal. The sophomore ranks second on the team with nine points.
- Swankler's game-winner was his seventh goal of the season, which is tied for 14th in the NCAA and third in the CCHA. He is tied for second in the conference and seventh nationally with two game-winning goals.
- The Falcons went 3-for-8 on the power play last weekend, with Ethan Scardina notching his team-best third power play score. The junior has six goals this season and has scored a goal in each of the last four games. He and O'Hara are tied for the team lead in plus/minus at +3.
- Bowling Green's penalty kill was a perfect 7-for-7 against St. Thomas, with the Falcons combining to block nine shots. Hunter Lellig blocked four during a single penalty kill on Saturday, keeping the game tied at 2-2. Christian Stoever stopped all 10 shots he faced.
- Max Coyle and Chase Gresock share the team lead in assists with six apiece. Coyle has tallied all six of his in the last five games, including a pair of two-assist efforts.
