"The first period was a good period for us. Things happen fast in this rink, so for us to have a two-goal lead after the first was big. Then in the second, we got going and had a lot of guys playing well."

Scoring Plays
- The Falcons opened the scoring with just under six minutes to play in the first. Taylor Schneider won a defensive zone faceoff, which was collected by Alex Barber. He sent the puck up the ice, where an accelerating Nathan Burke poked it away from the FSU blue-liner. On the breakaway, he feigned a wrister and brought the puck from left to right, firing in a nifty backhanded shot for the game's first goal. Barber and Schneider had the assists.
- A few minutes later, Brett Pfoh extended the lead with his first collegiate goal. After another defensive zone faceoff win, the Falcons rushed down the ice, with Pfoh firing a shot from the left circle. It was saved, but the rebound deflected off the back boards and found the stick of Jaden Grant, who had his shot saved. The puck continued to bounce between the circles until Pfoh repossessed it and fired a shot that found its way through the left side and hit twine. Jaden Grant and Quinn Emerson were credited with the assists.
- Less than two minutes into the second period, Chase Gresock scored to extend the lead further. A lengthy offensive possession saw Zach Vinnell pass the puck from above the circles to just right of the crease, where Austen Swankler was positioned. His cross-crease pass found a crashing Gresock, who knocked in BGSU's third goal of the night. Assists were awarded to Swankler and Vinnell.
- During a 4-on-4 session in the second period, Burke lit the lamp again for the Orange and Brown. He skated from the bottom of the defensive zone then passed it to Taylor Schneider on the left side the neutral zone. The duo weaved into the attacking zone, where Schneider sent it back to Burke. Burke's shot from the top of the left circle went top shelf for his second goal of the night. Schneider and Zach Vinnell had the assists.
- Shortly after killing a penalty, the Falcons forced an FSU turnover in the offensive zone. On the forecheck, Nathan Burke intercepted a pass behind the net, then dumped it to Alex Barber. His quick shot hit the net for the fifth goal of the game. Burke had the only assist.
- Less than the minute later, Bowling Green scored again. They worked the puck from left to right along the blue line, with Ryan O'Hara passing to Chase Gresock, who sent it to Austen Swankler. Swankler gathered himself in the right circle and sent a scorching shot into the net. Assists went to Gresock and O'Hara.
